Steve Koonin is an American businessman who currently serves as the CEO of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism and began his career as a marketing executive for Coca-Cola. He then spent over a decade as an executive at Turner Broadcasting, eventually rising to become the president of Turner Entertainment Networks. In 2008, he became the CEO of the Atlanta Hawks and led the team through a major rebranding effort, including a new logo, uniforms, and court design. He also oversaw the renovation of State Farm Arena, which reopened in 2018 after a $192.5 million renovation project. Koonin has been recognized for his leadership in the sports industry, including being named one of the most influential people in sports business by SportsBusiness Journal.
